Treatment-Related Highlights from Chicago 2008

Community-based oncologists are expected to assimilate an increasingly large amount of rapidly evolving data in many areas of cancer research and treatment developments. In order to utilize the most current, evidence-based care available for the treatment of a wide variety of cancers and related side effects, three live certified CME/CE accredited meetings took place from June-August of 2008 to update clinicians on the data most relevant to the community oncologist from the 2008 American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting. Select presentations from these meetings are presented here, and they offer a convenient opportunity for community-based oncologists and other cancer care providers to rapidly acquire knowledge of the most recent, clinically relevant changes in cancer therapy as presented in Chicago 2008.
