Oncology research and treatment are constantly evolving and staying current with advances in the field is a significant challenge for community-based oncology nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and other oncology clinicians. Oncology healthcare providers are required to master an extensive spectrum of issues ranging from implementation of the most recent advances in cancer treatment into clinical practice, assessing and utilizing integrative medicine, as well as reimbursement and regulatory issues.
Through effective collaboration of both academic and community-based experts, an educational curriculum has been developed to integrate the most recent data with practical clinical application. Accordingly, the ultimate goal of this meeting is to improve cancer care quality and enhance patient outcomes in the community practice.
