Cancer patients are at a high risk for bacterial infections due to neutropenia, immunosuppression by chemotherapeutics and radiation, the use of implantable catheters, and their increased likelihood of hospitalization during their treatment. Cancer treatments often compromise mucosal barriers in patients, further increasing their risk of infection. In addition to the dangers related to infections in cancer patients, problematic infections frequently result in the disruption of their chemotherapy/radiation regimens. These one-hour accredited webcasts will educate community-based cancer caregivers on the most current evidence-based practices for the prevention and management of infections and infection-related complications in cancer patients.Total program credits 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) , 2.5 AACN Contact Hours, 3.0 ACPE Contact Hours
